Colombian central defender, 23-year old Éder Balanta transfers from Argentinian club Atlético River Plate to FC Basel 1893. On Thursday July 14th, 2016 Balanta signed a four-year contract dated until June 30th 2020.
In July 2012, Balanta transferred from Atletico River Plate´s youth team to their top team, playing 82 fixtures and scoring 3 goals. In March 2014, Balanta played his 1st fixture for the Colombian national team and has since made 6 appearances for his country. The left footed defender has won several titles; Argentinian Champions (2014), Copa Libertadores (2014/2015), Copa Sudamericana (2013/2014) as well as the Recopa Sudamericana (2014/2015).
On the day Éder Balanta signed his contract for FCB, he travelled to FCB´s training camp in Crans-Montana, where he will be equipped with shirt number 23.
