As a 14-year-old boy Serey Die joined the “Centre Nationale” football academy in Abidjan, then played for 3 Ivory Coast teams before moving abroad. Serey Die briefly played for “Etoile Olympique Goulette et Kram” in Tunesia then for „ES Sétif“ in Algeria, where he won the Arabian Champions League in 2007/2008.
A year later Serey Die transferred to Switzerland, where he played for FC Sion, winning the Swiss Cup in 2009 and 2011.
The Ivory Coast International moved from FC Sion to FCB in 2013, where he played a total of 69 fixtures in national and international competitions. Before moving to the Bundesliga, Serey Die won the Swiss League with FC Basel on two occasions.
Serey Die has played for the Ivory Coast national team 22 times and participated in the FIFA World Cup 2014 in Brazil.
“I am happy to come back at FC Basel” stated Serey Die, “I started a job at FCB in 2013 and I have come back to finish the job.”
Geoffroy Serey Die will play with shirt number 6 and is looking forward to training with his new team mates next week.
