Italian side FC Empoli sign Dimitri Oberlin on a loan deal until the end of the 2018/2019 season. Empoli have the option to sign the player on a permanent basis.
Dimitri Oberlin moved from Redbull Salzburg to FCB in the summer of 2018, on loan, but at the end of the 2017/2018 season, FCB signed Oberlin, long-term. The striker scored 11 goals for FCB, 4 of which were scored during last season´s UEFA Champions League.
Sports Director Marco Streller commented on Oberlin´s move:
„I am still very much convinced of Dimitri´s qualities as a player and believe that he will learn a lot from the experiences he will gain in the Serie A.“
FCB wish Dimitri Oberlin all the best and lots of success with FC Empoli and would like to thank him for all that he has done for red and blue.
