What brings you to Basel, Mile?
The reason for my visit to Basel is to show my eldest son Luka where he was born and also to visit and show my 3 children my old club FCB. This is the first time we have visited since leaving in 2007. I’m on a tour trough Europe with my family anyway.
What comes first to your mind, when you think of your time in Basel?
I have many great memories of FCB. I remember the fans! They were amazing. I remember the people that worked at the club many of which still do! But some of my best memories are winning the league and celebrating in the town center at Papa Joes.
What was your personal highlight?
My personal highlights include scoring away at Inter Milan in the champions league qualifier 2004 because it was always a dream of mine to play at the San Siro and score! The others are winning the league and the Swiss Cup.
Do you still follow the results of FCB?
I always keep up to date with FCB and the results. FCB will always be part of my life like all my old clubs. They are like family.
What have you been doing as a profession since you retired from active football?
Since I retired I have started my own football academy called MSFC (Mile Sterjovski Football Coaching) and I give kids aged 5yrs to 16yrs specialized football coaching. One day I hope to create a link from my academy to FCB and see some more players from Australia play for this great club.
